Do my customers need to opt in before I send them WhatsApp messages?
Yes — for Marketing-category messages, explicit opt-in is mandatory. Utility messages (transactional notifications tied to a customer action) and Authentication messages (OTPs, account-verification) don't require a separate opt-in beyond the underlying business relationship. Service messages only happen after a customer messages you first.
What is the 24-hour service window?
When a customer sends you a message, you have 24 hours from that moment to send any free-form reply — text, image, document, or interactive content — without using a pre-approved template. Every new customer message resets the window. Outside the window, you can only re-engage them with a pre-approved template.
How does template approval work?
You submit each message template (with placeholder variables) to Meta through the VeloConnect dashboard. Utility and Authentication templates are typically approved within hours. Marketing templates can take 24–48 hours and have stricter content guidelines. We help you write templates that pass on the first try.
What does WhatsApp Business cost?
Meta bills WhatsApp per conversation, not per message, with separate rates for Utility, Authentication, Marketing, and Service categories — and rates vary by destination country. Do I need Meta Business Verification?
Yes — to use the WhatsApp Business Platform you must complete Meta Business Verification. We submit your business on your behalf and walk you through the documents you need (business registration, tax ID, official email on your verified domain). Verification typically takes 1–2 business days.
Can I move an existing WhatsApp number into Fortis?
In most cases yes — if the number isn't currently bound to a personal WhatsApp account. We coordinate the migration window with you so there's no message gap. New numbers can also be provisioned in 24 hours.
