Feature Access Codes — Quick Reference

Overview

Feature Access Codes (FACs) — also called star codes — are short dial-pad shortcuts that trigger VeloPBX calling features straight from your phone. Instead of opening the Web Portal to flip a switch, you dial a code (for example *78 to turn on Do Not Disturb) and the action takes effect immediately.

This page is the wallet-card version for everyday extension users. It lists only the codes you would dial from your own desk phone or softphone — voicemail, call forwarding, DND, park/pickup, speed dial, paging, recording, and a few small handy ones.

Note: This card omits the admin-only codes (tenant-wide settings, supervisor monitoring, hot desking, queue agent state, maintenance). For the complete list including admin-only codes, see the master FAC reference.

How to Use This Card

FACs work from any device registered to your extension — desk phone, the VeloPBX softphone app, or any third-party SIP client. The flow is the same on every device:

  1. Pick up the handset or open the dial pad on your softphone.
  2. Dial the code from the table below.
  3. If the feature needs more input — a destination number, an extension, a PIN — follow the audio prompt or dial it as one continuous sequence (no pause needed). Example: 72 + 12345678 is dialed as 7212345678.

A few conventions used below:

ConventionMeaning
*XXThe literal star code — dial it as shown
[number]A phone number you supply
[ext]An extension on your tenant
[digit]A single digit (0–9) for 1-digit speed dial
[NN]Two digits (00–99) for 2-digit speed dial
#Press the pound key

Tip: Anything you can do with a FAC, you can also do from the Web Portal. Codes are the keyboard shortcut, not a separate system. Use whichever is faster for you.

Print This Page

Need a desk-side cheat sheet? Open this page in your browser and use File → Print (or Ctrl/Cmd + P) to print only this card. The tables are sized to fit on a single sheet of A4 or US Letter at default scale.

Note: Your tenant administrator can rename any of these codes to fit local conventions. If a code below doesn’t work, ask your admin which value is in use — the feature is unchanged, only the digits.
